The contaminated rates of the distilled water for diluent of antibiotics was carried out after being exposed to atmosphere on the medical, surgical and infectious disease wards, sugical and medical out patient depar¡©tments, and emergency room of the hospital.
The obtained results were as follows:
1. The distilled water for diluent of antibiotics were contaminated after being exposed to atmosphere for 30 minutes on the all of the medical, surgical wards and surgical outpatient department, except on the first floor of the surgical ward, emergency room and medical out patient department.
2. The average bacterial colonies per day were observed that was 0.8 colonies for 30 minutes, 2.4 colonies for 1 hour, and numerous confluent colonies for 24 hours after the distilled water for diluent of ant¡©ibiotcs to be exposed to atmosphere in the hospital ward.
These results were suggested that doctors and nurses should pay strict attention to control the multiple dose diluent for injection, such as the distilled water for diluent of antibiotics, because diluent was easily contaminated after being exposed to atmosphere in the ward.
